Vaishno Devi is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites snuggled in the Trikuta mountains. It is 61 Km from Jammu at the height of 5,200 ft. is one of the holiest Hindu temples. It is believed to be a home to goddesses Parvati or goddess Shakti along with 33 other deities. The cave temple also houses three sacred pindis or stone ... representations of three energy forms regarded as the manifestation of goddesses. The pale yellow lying on the extreme left represents the goddess Saraswati, the yellow-red in the middle represents the goddess Lakshmi, and the black on the extreme left represents the goddess Kali. The holy cave temple is said to have been built by Pandavas and is visited by millions of visitors throughout the year. The journey to reach the shrine is 12 Km from the base camp in Katra near Jammu and its mid-point is called Ardh Kuwari which leads to Sanji Chhat.
